Finance Minister Mathias Cormann has announced a registration process for Australians to receive a prospectus for the Medibank Private share offer.

Medibank Private is Australia’s largest private health insurer and provides health insurance cover for over 3.8 million people.

Australian residents who pre-register to receive a prospectus and then apply for shares can receive a preferential allocation of shares.

Senator Cormann said that eligible Medibank Private and ahm health insurance policyholders who pre-register and then apply for shares can receive a greater preferential allocation than non-policy holders who pre-register.

(ahm health insurance is owned by Medibank Private and claims over 500,000 members.)

Pre-registration for the Medibank Private Share Offer will close on October 15.

Further details of the offer will be provided in the prospectus, which is expected to be available in late October, subject to market conditions, Senator Cormann said..
